Our match of the round this week sees Revesby Workers Maroon take on East Bankstown Red.

Elsewhere, Georges River Thistle and Revesby Workers White meet in a top of the table clash, while East Bankstown Yellow and Birrong Sports both look for their first points of the season in their clash.

Match of the Round: Revesby Workers Maroon vs East Bankstown Red; Sunday 30th April, 3PM @Playford Park                                                                            Previous Meeting: East Bankstown 1-2 Revesby Workers – AAL1 Rd4, 2022

Revesby Workers Maroon won comfortably last week against Birrong Sports while East Bankstown Red suffered their first loss of the season against Revesby White.

The last time these two sides met was in Round 4 of the All-Age Ladies 1 competition in a tight contest with Revesby Workers winning the match 2-1.

Workers Maroon showed off their attacking flair once again with a 6-1 win over Birrong Sports.

Workers had 6 different goal scorers in their 6-1 showing off their quality all over the pitch.

The Workers will hope to tighten up their defence in this match and aim for their first clean sheet of the season if they are to get back-to-back wins in this match.

Easts Red lost their first match of the season against Workers White after going down 3-0 in the first 15 minutes of the match before coming back late to lose 3-2.

Easts will need an improved effort this week and will looking to be more focused at the start of this match to not go down early.

Easts striker Chiara Nohra, was strong in last week’s match scoring both of their goals and they will look to her again this week to be firing in front of goal if they are to win this match.

With the Revesby hitting form and the Easts on a loss, this match could go either way as third and fourth do battle.

Georges River Thistle vs Revesby Workers White; Sunday 30th April, 3PM @ Padstow Park                                                                                                                                          Previous Meeting: Revesby Workers 2-7 Georges River Thistle – AAL1/2 Rd3, 2022

Georges River Thistle claimed back-to-back victories last week with their win over Easts Yellow while Revesby Workers White jumped to the top of the table with their win over Easts Red.

The last time these two sides met Georges River Thistle dominated in a 7-2 victory, however Workers White are much improved since then.

Thistle have been strong since losing in their first round as they have won their last two matches scoring 10 goals and conceding only 1.

They boast the second-best attack in the competition so far with 12 goals and will look to put more past the Workers this week.

They have also got the best defensive record so far this season conceding only three goals so far this season.

With a firing attack and strong defence, Thistle will be more then up for this clash.

Revesby Workers White pushed to the top of the table after their statement win against Easts Red last weekend.

Workers White are the only side unbeaten through the first three rounds to start the season and will look to continue the momentum.

With a win over Thistle giving them the chance to drift them further away from the rest of the competition, Workers White will be more then up for this fixture.

Thistle could take top spot with a win, while Workers White could move four points clear of them with victory; this promises to be the match of the season, so far.

East Bankstown Yellow vs Birrong Sports; Sunday 30th April, 3PM @ Kelso South                                                                                                                                                              Previous Meeting: Birrong Sports 6-0 East Bankstown Yellow – AAL1/2 Rd8, 2022

East Bankstown Yellow conceded 3-goals late in their 4-0 loss to Georges River Thistle last weekend while Birrong Sports struggled against a strong Revesby Workers Maroon.

In this previous fixture last season, Birrong Sports dominated in a 6-0 victory over Easts.

Easts Yellow are still chasing their first win of the season and their first points in three matches.

Easts have been promising in all their first half performances; however, their second halves have let them down as they have conceded 12 of their 16 goals in their second halves.

If East can keep focused defensively for the full 90-minutes they could go a long way to winning this match.

Birrong Sports suffered their biggest loss of the season against Revesby Workers Maroon last weekend, and they will be looking to bounce back this week.

Despite only conceding eight goals, they are the lowest-scoring side so far this season, with two goals from their opening three matches; if they can improve on the offensive end, they could fight for a result this weekend.

If Birrong Sports can look to create more chances in attack this week, their defence should be able to hold out a young East Yellow.

With both sides afforded the opportunity to find their first win of the season, expect this to be a toughly contested match.
