Round eleven of the Bankstown Umbro Premier League season saw twenty goals scored in the 1st grade competition as a three-way battle at the top of the competition continues.

The match of the round saw a determined Padstow Hornets hold Central Sydney Wolves at bay as they climbed back into the top five after their win on the weekend.

Earlier, Panania Diggers eased to a victory over Bass Hill Rangers on Friday Night, while Bankstown Sports Strikers held off Padstow United late to stay at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Yagoona Lions turned up the heat in a five-star performance against Revesby Workers.

Georges River Thistle had a bye this round.

 

Match of the Round: Padstow Hornets 2-0 Central Sydney Wolves

Reserve Grade Score: Padstow Hornets 1-3 Central Sydney Wolves

A strong first half performance from Padstow Hornets helped them overcome Central Sydney Wolves as Padstow Hornets look to push themselves back up the ladder.

Padstow Hornets understood the importance of this match as they were sitting outside the top five prior to this match.

Padstow made a fast start to this fixture with Mike Cklamovski finding the back of the net to give his side an early 1-0 lead.

Padstow Hornets defence looked to be strong once again in this match as they limited the chances made by the Wolves.

It would be Padstow Hornets Mike Cklamovski making the difference for his side as his shot hit the back of the net in the 32nd minute to give himself a brace and Padstow a 2-goal advantage.

Padstow Hornets went into halftime with a two goal lead as Central Sydney Wolves would look to change things up at halftime to turn this match around.

The second half was like the first as the Wolves struggled to break down a strong and well-structured Hornets defence.

The longer the second half went on, the less likely it looked like we would see another goal in this match.

Wolves in-form number 9, Vitor Fernandes da Guia was sent off in the 92nd minute after receiving his second yellow card as Wolves were left with 10-men for the remainder of the match.

Padstow Hornets would win the game 2-0 as a Mike Cklamovksi double sealed an important win for his side moving the Hornets into 5th on the ladder, while Central Sydney Wolves three game win streak came to an end as they stayed in 4th on the ladder.

 

Bass Hill Rangers 0-5 Panania Diggers

Panania Diggers got back to winning ways in impressive fashion as they defeated Bass Hill Rangers on Friday night at Padstow Park.

It was a game defined by a dominant second half performance by Panania as the first half saw limited chances by both sides on a cold Friday night.

The game looked destined to go into half time at 0-0, however, Panania’s captain Joshua Bull scored in the 42nd minute to give Panania a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half saw Panania come out firing as Joshua Collins scored his first 1st grade goal this season to give his side a 2-0 lead in the 47th minute.

Panania had their third in 55th minute as Joshua Adams found the back of the net.

Joshua Adams would then make it a brace for himself in the 71st minute as he scored his second goal of the match.

The game looked all but done late as Panania lead the game 4-0, however Joshua Adams, determined to complete his hattrick scored in the 86th minute.

Panania diggers won the game 5-0 courtesy of a Joshua Adams hattrick as they still sit in 2nd position behind Bankstown Sports Strikers on goal difference, while Bass Hill Rangers sit in 9th on the ladder as they look to regroup and go again in round 12.

 

Padstow United 1-2 Bankstown Sports Strikers

Reserve Grade Score: Padstow United 4-0 Bankstown Sports Strikers

Bankstown Sports Strikers held strong against a determined Padstow United side as they held on late to win the game 2-1.

Padstow United were dealt an early blow as their top goal scorer in Rafa Coutinho was unavailable again for this match as they hunted a vital three points for their season.

Bankstown Sports Strikers that the brighter start of the two sides as Strikers David Panatos found the back of the net in the 4th minute to give Bankstown Sports Strikers a 1-0 advantage.

Both sides battled for territory through the first half as Bankstown Sports Strikers looked to be the team with the better of the chances.

On the stroke of halftime, Strikers number 9 Robson Aparecido de Souza shot found the back of the net as Strikers went into half time with a 2-0 advantage.

Padstow United came out determined in the second half as they hunted for a goal to spark a comeback in the second half.

United’s number 10, Maceon Goder found the back of the net in the 66th minute to bring the score back to 2-1 as he scored his second goal in consecutive matches.

Padstow United were unable to find a second goal late in this match in search of a point as the game ended with Bankstown Sports Strikers winning the match 2-1.

Padstow United have lose their fourth consecutive match as they sit in 7th, while Bankstown Sports Strikers retain 1st spot after their victory.

 

Yagoona Lions 10-0 Revesby Workers

Reserve Grade Score: Yagoona Lions 3-2 Revesby Workers

Yagoona Lions showed their quality against Revesby Workers as Yagoona won the game 10-0 in a dominant performance.

Jamie Bazevski opened the scoring in the 4th minute as he gave Yagoona an early 1-0 lead.

It was Jamie Bazevski who found the back again in the 16th minute before Yagoona’s Jonathan Dalleh scored in the 24th minute.

Jamie Bazevski would have a first half hattrick in the 39th minute of the match as Yagoona went into halftime with a 4-0 advantage.

The second half was like the first as Yagoona Lions continued to dominate field position and create goal scoring chances.

Jamie Bazevski scored his fourth goal in the 53rd minute followed by Yagoona’s Jonathon Cakovski finding the back of the net in the 58th minute.

Jamie Bazevski would go on to complete his double hattrick as he found the back of the net in the 67th and 75th minute.

Yagoona’s Jayden Ristevski scored in the 78th minute before Jamie Bazevski scored his 7th goal in the 82nd minute as Yagoona Lions won the game 10-0.

Yagoona Lions first clean sheet and dominant win sees them remain in 3rd as they continue to hunt down the top 2, while Revesby Workers remain in 8th position on the ladder.
