Previous Meeting: Revesby Workers 3-0 East Bankstown Yellow – AAL2 Grand Final, 2022

East Bankstown Yellow will be looking to make-up for a disappointing 8-1 loss in round 1 when they take on a Revesby Workers White who were able to gain a valuable point against a strong opposition in Birrong Sports.

The last time these two sides met was in the All-Age Ladies Division Two 2022 Grand Final where Revesby Workers White were crowned champions after they defeated East Bankstown Yellow 3-0.

Both these two sides were promoted to the top WPL competition, making this a very exciting fixture!

East Bankstown Yellow did not have an exciting welcome to WPL as they were defeated 8-1 to Revesby Workers Maroon who are experienced side in this competition.

However, the Easts had a strong first half as they went into half time down 1-0. If Easts are to improve this week, they need to have focus for the full ninety minutes.

Revesby Workers White gained an important point in a 1-1 draw with Birrong Sports who were grand finalists in the All-Age Ladies 1 competition in 2022.

Revesby Workers White did not look out of their league in the first fixture in WPL competition.

The Workers were able to create many chances in the opposition half, however, they will be looking to convert a few more of their chances in this fixture.

With both sides looking for their first points of the season and last year’s grand final in the back of both teams’ minds, this looks to be an exciting match of the round for our WPL competition.

East Bankstown Red vs Birrong Sports, 3pm @ Crest Sporting Complex

East Bankstown Red will be looking to continue their positive momentum into round 2 as they take on Birrong Sports who will be looking for their first win of the season.

The last time these two sides met, Birrong Sports defeated East Bankstown 1-0 which would see East Bankstown knocked out of the final’s competition.

East Bankstown Red gained an important three points as they defeated the 2022 champions Georges River Thistle 2-1 in round 1.

East Bankstown Red showed their resilience as a team as they came back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 through two quick goals in the second half.

East Bankstown’s captain and striker Chiara Nohra was able to get on the scoresheet with her goal in the 51st minute to bring the game back to 1-1 and lead her side to a comeback victory and she will be very important once again if her side are to claim victory in this fixture.

Birrong Sports gained a point in their 1-1 draw with Revesby Workers White in round 1 so they will be eager to get the three points in this fixture.

Birrong will be hoping to be stronger in attack to create a few more chances utilising their pace through their wingers in this fixture.

Birrong’s goalkeeper Lauren Croucher was strong in round 1 making some vital saves for her team. She will important again in this fixture coming up against a strong attacking outfit in East Bankstown Red.

With both sides looking to cement their positions towards the top of the ladder, expect this fixture to have both sides fight to the final whistle.

Revesby Workers Maroon vs Georges River Thistle, 3pm @ Crest Sporting Complex

Previous Meeting: Georges River Thistle 6-0 Revesby Workers Maroon – AAL1 Semi Final, 2022

Revesby Workers Maroon will look to continue their great start to their season as they take on Georges River Thistle who will be eager to get the three-points after their first-round defeat.

The last time these two sides met was in the All-Age Ladies Division 1 2022 Semi-finals where Georges River Thistle eased to a 6-0 win against the Workers side.

Revesby Workers Maroon were strong in their round 1 fixture against East Bankstown Yellow when they went on to an 8-1 victory.

Revesby Workers attack showed their fire power in round 1 with striker Mya Donnelly scoring four goals and Marianna Konidaris scoring three. Both attackers will be looking to get on the score sheet once again this week.

Revesby Workers will be hoping to start off a bit sharper in the first half as they struggled to find a goal in the opening 40 minutes of round 1.

Georges River Thistle did not start off their season as they would have liked as they lost 2-1 to a strong East Bankstown Red outfit.

Georges River Thistle opened the game strongly with a goal from winger Jorja Murray in the first three minutes of the goal. They will need to have a lot more focus in defence if they are to score early in this game.

Georges River Thistle’s Jorja Murray scored four goals in this fixture in the 2022 finals series, and they will look to her in attack if they are to find the back of the net in this fixture.

We expect this game to a fiery contest as both look for a vital three points as they aim to around the top of the table.
